This blog was created as a project for my Technical Writing class.  The students had to pick a topic that we were interested in, so I had this great idea to design the blog as an informational guide that gave quick and easy access to sites which provide more direct information for those who may wish to visit New York City.   I thought this would be a good way to introduce people to some of the most interesting sights and activities there are do to in NYC such as visiting the Metropolitan Museum or Art and the Natural History Museum.

I have visited New York City many times with my husband Tony, who is from New Jersey.  I have really enjoyed my trips into the big city.  Each visit into New York, I found something new and exciting to do.  I want everyone to know that they can have a blast in the “Big Apple!”  New York City is one of the most exciting cities in the world. There are so many people in New York, it is truly a different experience than what many people will ever know in their lifetime.  There are huge buildings and advertisements.  The tourist spots like Times Square were exciting to me as a visitor because I had never seen anything like them before.  The excitement of New York is not just in the sights that can be see for New York is a truly vibrant, active city.  There are millions of people from all walks of life there.  Artists, actors, business people, fashion designers and even people playing musical instruments and singing as you’re catching the subway!  There are so many things to do and see.  In the summer, there are Yankee games and outdoor concerts as well as countless opportunities to see art and theatre.   I am sure to some people, the idea of traveling to a large city like New York can be a frightening thought; but with a little information and preparation, it can be a truly wonderful experience and well worth the cost of going.
