My name is Vanessa Versandi. I am from Fairbanks, Alaska. I was married on February 10th of last year. I met my husband, Tony in a history class at the University of Alaska FAirbanks, where I am currently enrolled and hopefully, will be graduating from University of Alaska Fairbanks with a Bachelors of Arts and Science in May of 2009.
My husband is from New Jersey, so for the past two years, during Christmas break, we have visited his family in NJ, so of course, we took a few trips into New York City. My first trip into the city was a culture shock because I had never seen anything like NYC before. The buildings are so huge, and beautiful because they are so different from anything like I had ever seen. There are so many people. There are people asking you on the sidewalk if you like comedy, so they can try to persuade you to go to the next comedy show while you’re trying to push your way through all of these people so you can get to your destination. There are people playing guitars and singing while you’re waiting for the subway. The food is great. Whatever it is you want, you’ll find it there. There are tons of shops and restaurants, and the museums are amazing. Not too mention, the Statue of Liberty was truly a wonderful sight that I never thought I would ever see.
